Product Development

Project Background

Hafaspot is a specialized mobile app designed to enhance the experience of fishing tournaments by streamlining event management and fostering community among anglers.

The Challenge

The previous version of the app was outdated and cumbersome, causing frustration among users with complicated registration processes, inefficient tournament tracking, and limited social engagement.

Problem

Research & Discovery:

To address these issues, I led an in-depth user research study to uncover real pain points and user needs. Using these insights, I redesigned the information architecture and user experience from the ground up, focusing on simplifying tournament participation, improving tracking features, and integrating meaningful social elements.

I led a comprehensive user research study involving interviews, surveys, and usability testing to deeply understand anglers’ pain points and expectations. This data-driven approach revealed critical flaws and opportunities for improvement.

My Role

I took charge of coordinating the development team, translating design specifications into actionable tasks, and ensuring seamless collaboration between designers and developers to bring the vision to life.

Although the app is still in pre-launch and I am no longer involved, my comprehensive redesign and strategic leadership have established a solid, user-focused foundation. Hafaspot is positioned to deliver a modern, efficient, and community-driven fishing tournament platform.
